College students who are really good users of the more than 200 million member social networking site THE FACEBOOK, are prone to scoring lesser grades than their classmates who don’t use it.

It has been a doctoral study at Ohio University by Aryn Karpinski and her co researcher Adam Duberstein. This is going to be presented in the annual meeting of the American Education Research Association in April. The researchers surveyed and interviewed 219 grads and undergrads and got the result that the range was 3.0 to 3.5 for facebook users to the bracket of 3.5 to 4 of non-users of same level. The research shows that regular facebook users spend more time networking and lesser time studying and the direct consequence is worsening of the results and grades. In factmost of the daily users get results lowered upto one whole grade. According to  Karpinski every generation has its distarctions but facebook is a unique one!!!!

Facebook has many distinctive features called applications which include everything from taking quizzez , playing games , organzing events and mantaining diaries to many more. Once you have logged in you are getting deeper into this marsh(though it feels hard) and it swallows your time like anything…
