THE MAGNIFICENT FLOATING BED CONCEPT….
You would have enjoyed a water bed or a hammock…. Forget all about the regular sleeping arrangements and enjoy the bed that floats on air and holds upto 900 kgs of weight and is just held into place by 4 thin wires. Read the full story….
All architecture is governed by the rule of gravity. The floating bed overcomes this fundamental power and falls towards the sky. The only contact with the ground with the ground are 4 thin wires to ensure that you dont slide off the magnetic plate…..
Specifications:
- A floating height of 40 cm.
- Weight holding capacity of around 900 kgs.
- Multifuntionality of a Bed, a Sofa, a Japanese Table or an Art Display Unit
- Cost of astonishing 1,200,000 Euros.
Principle:
The bed works on the principle of repulsive levitation magnetism. The opposing magnetic fields makes the weaker magnet basically the bed fall towards the sky. When a magnet is placed infront of an another magnet with opposite polarities, they will show a repelling force.

The four thin cables that are visible at every corner of the bed prevent the object from falling up… I wonder if there werent any cables, how much further up would we be going?? Anyway, these cables serve the purpose of keeping the bed motionless and stopping the bed from going up…
Permanent magnetism is used in the concept of floating bed. So no electricity or any kind of power is required to keep it floating. This means that after thousands of years the bed will still be floating.
A word of caution perhaps…..
You are not a magnet, so you might want to take your earrings off before you go to bed….
Believe me, You don’t want to wake up sucked to the ground….. :-)….
